FADE IN

INT. My desk - Now

Diving into scripts is what makes me truly happy. That, along with world peace, and mounds of money.
And over the last 8+ years of my professional career, I’ve written tons of ‘em.

Whilst the Senior Creative at MTV & Viacom, I would regularly write scripts for live-action adverts, animated spots, radio pieces, and also for voiceover artists.

Like the time I wrote 150 On-Air idents in one go, or the time I conjured up lines for Danny Dyer (script lines, you absolute animal). In all honesty, I’ve simply lost count how many I penned (soz!).

I’m very flexible tonally (sadly not so much physically) and thus these scripts ranged from super goofy, to super serious (and sometimes, a balance of the two).

I’ve written short films, stories, music video narratives, social content scripts, you name it.

All of the work found on this website (and here) originated from my frantic keyboard tapping, so to get a feel for my writing skills please take a look around!

And as an indulgent little treat, I’ve added some varied samples of my writing below. Tuck in!

Writing Samples

Victory To The Mimers

Project: Short Film (In Festival Circuit)

Writers: Steve Furst, James Green

About:

I was given an early 10-page draft of “The Mimers” by co-writer Steve Furst, which I then re-wrote into a new 15 page screenplay.
This was then directed by myself into a 15 minute short film.

A satirical dramedy loosely inspired by the infamous UK Miner’s strikes; however this time, the fight isn’t in the pits, but on the stage.

With his beloved family trade targeted by a right-wing government with a long-standing hatred for the arts, a Mime performer desperately rallies the troops for a silent revolution, vowing to save the arts from facing the final curtain.

E.L.F. Skin & Gemma Collins
Bronzing Drops Challenge

Project: Social Content

Client: Tiny Studios & E.L.F.

Writer: James Green

About:

E.L.F. wanted to launch their new Bronzing Drops with some bold, disruptive social content.
I was hired by the wonderful team at Tiny Studios to write comedy scripts for Gemma Collins, as part of a new viral challenge.

They wanted to see if Gemma is brave enough to conquer the scariest of theme park rides, and (knowing we all like to look glam for those ride photos) see if she could apply her Bronzing Drops before the ride drops…

Terrorcotta

Project: Feature Film (In Development)

Writer: James Green

About:

I’m currently writing the first draft of what will become my debut feature-length.

Part socio-political satire, part comedy thriller;
TERRORCOTTA explores the horrors of gentrification.
